You know those days. When dinner time is approaching and YOU HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT DINNER. Hmmm. Hungry dictators will demand to eat soon. Must prepare for mutiny.
Which is when you call the pizza delivery joint.
Pizza. Your savior. The kids love it. And you…well, you are just happy to not have hungry dictators declaring mutiny and spearing you with their weapons.
So, which wine? (Which you clearly need at this point?)
For us, when an eerily similar day happened last week, it was this red wine, which The Husband dug out of our basement BREAK IN CASE OF EMERGENCY stores. (Note: we have emergencies daily, which is why we stock up on wines under $10.)
Sangiovese is basically the main kind of grape in the more well-known (at least I’ve heard of it) Chianti (Thxs, Wikipedia!) The name of this wine –don’t make me pronounce it—sounds complicated. But it goes really well going down. Extremely well going down with chain store pizza delivery (and I’d also imagine with any tomato-based pasta).
Professional wine tasters say this wine has flavors of berries, spices, and leather—not sure about that description. I certainly didn’t taste hints of shoe. But, I did think it was fruity, juicy and just perfect for those pizza emergency days.
