Budget Wine of the Week: Martin Codax Tempranillo Ergo Rioja
Thursday
May 20, 2010
Price: $9.99
Sweet to Dry Scale: 7*
This week, my husband picked out our wine. He was like a kid in a candy store and his eyes were all lit up when he showed me the bottle. His enthusiasm was rewarded too. This wine is yummy! It’s on the dryer side, but without being too much for the sweet wine drinker in me. I really enjoyed it a lot. It is yummy with dark chocolate, and not so great (in my opinion, anyway) with red pasta sauce. It also still tasted good the next day too, which I am always a fan of! I would recommend trying this one out. You can definitely bring it out for company too, but of course then you’d have to share it!
Bang for your Buck: Good. It’s a good wine to sip on.
*The Sweet to Dry Scale tells you just how dry the wine is, based on a number that my husband and I agree on. The higher the number, the dryer the wine. (0=sweet, 10=dry) My husband likes wines that are a 9 or 10. I like wines that are a 5 or 6.

Wow! That is a great price for a Rioja! Rioja is one of my very favorites. Where can I pick it up?
