For some time now, you all have been asking us how you can meet other Winey Moms in your area. Well, now there’s an easy way! Thanks to the great folks at Meetup Everywhere, we are now able to create local Moms Who Need Wine Meetup Groups and events … in any town across the globe! (How cool is that?)
And in honor of the launch, we have created our first ever WORLDWIDE MOMS WHO NEED WINE MEETUP DAY on April 5th, 2012. (Of course if that doesn’t work, you can still plan meetups any other day and time you wish!)
Simply visit www.meetup.com/momswhoneedwine to join—or start—a group in your area.
If you have any trouble, here are detailed instructions on how it works:
1.) Visit the link above, and enter your location in the box just below the header on the right hand side.
2.) You will see a list of groups near you.
- If, under the location, you see the words “Be the first in this community!” it means the group does not exist yet…. but you can choose to start it.
- If you see the words “This community is just getting started,” it means that there are 1 or 2 members so far.
- If you see a number of Wine Moms — well then that’s how many Moms belong to that group.
3.) Choose the Meetup Group(s) that feels right for you, and click it.
4.) Once you have clicked on a group, you need to join it. There are two ways:
- Click “Join Us, Get Updates” on the left hand column.
- Click “Join us + Schedule a Meetup” at the top. (Don’t worry, you really don’t HAVE to schedule anything when you click this. Only if you decide to once you’ve signed in and joined.)
5.) At this time, if you will be asked to Register For / Sign In to Meetup.com. This involves submitting your email address and a password, then clicking on a confirmation email that they will send you.
6.) Now that you’ve joined your group… you can RSVP to an existing event, suggest a new Meetup … or simply post messages/comments to your group with questions, ideas, or just to introduce yourself!
And voila! You’re connected! Now go forth and make friends….
